Happy Birthday, Lisa!

Wow! Do I love my little sister!! Lisa is most intelligent and has an impeccable work ethic. She has always been dedicated to doing the right thing. She is industrious in all that she attempts, yet she makes time to relax and just BE! She creates happy memories. Lisa is loving and caring and giving. She has assiduously collected a lot of information about life and how to live it well from a wide variety of respected sources. She is thoughtful in sharing her wisdom with others. Lisa is very encouraging. She is generous. She is a wonderful example of all things good. Lisa is disciplined and inspired. She seizes the moment. Lisa is...valiant.

Lisa is dedicated to her husband and children. She embraces life and lives in a way to reflect the gift that it is.

Notable Notes about the Birthday Girl:
  1. Lisa has mastered commemorating even the small special moments in life.
  2. Lisa called me once to lovingly offer to carry our child, if that was the cause of our infertility.
  3. Lisa is the best and coolest aunt ever!
  4. As a child, Lisa would still have some of her Halloween candy saved at Christmas, and her Christmas candy at Easter! ?How'd she do that?!
  5. Our Dad would let the two of us loose to spend hours exploring all over a Smithsonian museum on our own...and all over Kings Dominion. (It was the kind, safe 70s)
  6. Lisa is the Imaginative-Play Partner Par Excellence: cashiers with hundreds of bits of paper... forts in the overgrowth at the dead end of River Road...the wood chip pile wonderland at West Augusta...under the cottages at Nags Head...in Uncle Creasy’s barn...back seat companion on road trips...
  7. As teens, Lisa and I biked from our home to Sherando Lake (13/14 miles).
  8. Lisa has established Delta F: Forced Family Fun; planning adventures so her grown-up family can keep in touch and continue to cultivate their relationships.
  9. From a plane, Lisa wondered about the purpose of all of the vertical sticks covering the Arizona landscape...they were cacti.
  10. I love Lisa's smile: her whole face lights up and her eyes twinkle!
