The Great Debate, 26 September 2008

Oxford went to great lengths to prepare for the First 2008 Presidential Debate. We built a stage at the East side of the courthouse on which local canidates pontificated, school children sang, and two large viewing screens showed the live debate to a reverent crowd. My friend, Sue, and I enjoyed the beautiful weather while walking all over town the week prior, every day noting the changes as the big day approached. On the big day, Cindy and Alexis Cantrell talked me into going to the Grove for "Rock the Debate". We met Karma Wagstaff and Susan Dalrymple there and took in the celebration of democracy.

While Steve, Ron Wagstaff, John Cantrell and others were helping with hurricane relief in southern Louisiana, the girls were meeting celebs.
