Tina in Her Hat on the OBX

Finally! Beach pictures to share! Erin took some really great ones, too. So, I'll post those as soon as she sends them to me. Above is one that Emilie took with her camera on the first day. I think it sort of looks like an updated impressionist painting. There are captions on the ones in the slide show below; just run your mouse across the pics.

We had a beautiful week on the Outer Banks (OBX). The weather was glorious with afternoon thunderstorms on some of the days, which kept the temperatures down. There was a constant breeze, which afforded me whole days to spend on the beach under an umbrella, just reading, listening to the waves, and relaxing. One day I spent 11 straight hours at the edge of the surf. What a gift!

By Friday, the tropical storm that moved up the eastern coastline, way off-shore, delivered its rough and tumbling waves...and a heavy dose of jelly-fish. That was a bit of a deterrent to the swimming option, so that was the day I sat in my chair IN the surf as the tide came in, until the waves came nigh unto crashing in my lap. (Read more about our beach week activities in my previous post.)

It looks like a beautiful place! I miss the beach. Did you get the paint out of your shirt? Love the bandana in the hair, by the way! So cute!
